Waymarking Churches

Waymarking has a category for Lutheran churches so I decided to list my home church. The waymark for it can be found here. The church of the Nazarene and the Catholic church in town has also been done in the categories for their denominations. I like the fact that people thought it was worthy to creat these categories.

The saga conitnues

Kim is doing well. She is getting use to the walker and she is not needing vicodin at night as much. The pain must be getting better if other spots of discomfort are being noticed. Updates will come as they roll in.

Kim's ankle

It has been an interesting two days. We had a Memorial day weekend over at our place on Sunday. We had just opened the pool and Kim did the first cannon ball of the season and landed on the bottom of th pool wrong. She ended up breaking her leg and there was a 14 mm (over half an inch separation of the bone. He had seeing and hearing her in pain. She is home now and has gone from vicodin to advil so the pain is decreasing nicely. Needless to day, I was running on very little sleep lately. Since she is a computer jockey , we are looking into her possibly telecommuting.

what does your name mean

What Kevin Means

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.

You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.

People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are very hyper. You never slow down, even when it's killing you.

You're the type of person who can be a workaholic during the day... and still have the energy to party all night.

Your energy is definitely a magnet for those around you. People are addicted to your vibe.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

No Regrets, No Apologies.

I hate regrets and I don't do apologies well. I think I will live a code of conduct where I think about what I say or do, I won't be in a spot where either comes into play. I am not saying people are going to be always happy with me but I will stand by what I say and do. Everything thing I do will be on principal. I will not give up these principals because they are inconvenient or makes life harder. These principals are not 100% set in stone but they will only be changed slowly and with much thought. I do not know all the issues and there will a lot of circumstance where I am caught short. Hopefully I can react slowly and with thought and as far as possible do a consistent stand without offense. If I react badly, I will apologize but I will not apologize for conscience bound positions. I will try to understand other positions as far as possible but agreeing with them is a whole other story. Here I stand.

It is nice to get referenced,

I was surfing on the web today and noticed one of my waymarks have been referenced by the city of Garrett on their website. Kinda nice to get noticed even though nobody has visited it. I hope the link is beneficial to them. There have been over a hundred views of the waymark and hopefully more people will look at the rest of the waymarks and the waymarking site. I am happily smug about this.

Life is Unfair

Sometimes the hurt people can do to each other boggles the mind. Sometimes it hurts the people they promised to love and protect the most. Sometimes it hurts those who are on the sidelines and can't help but watch and can not do a darn thing about it. Sigh. Such is the condition of man and why should I really be surprised. I think I would rather commit suicide before stopping thinking the best of people and that will always be a set up for disappointment.

IHL hockey is over for the season

The Komets won the Turner Cup and the IHL playoff championship. Hurray! They were down 3-1 and Port Huron almost kicked them out. Last night's game when to 3 overtimes. Talk about a close game and a close series. The championship[ came down to one goal. Neither team deserved to lose it but someone had to. That was excellent hockey even though I felt certain for several games that the Komets were done for. I will happily take being wrong this time. Until hockey season rolls around again, I will be waiting and enjoying my other hobbies.

Getting Involved

I guess today is a day I am involved. The Indiana Primary was today so I voted and the blood drive was at the local American Legion Post. Of the two things I did, I think I did more good with the blood donation than with my vote. This time around was certainly a vote where I wanted to mark, none of the above and come back with a new slate of candidates. The biggest problem I have with any leader anymore is that if you want a position of power, then you are not qualified for it. The person should be willing to serve, not willing to wield power and I think the focus is on the later. The best I can do is do the best I can and influence the stuff that I can and hpefully it will have a ripple effect.

Trip To Chicago

We went to Chicago to welcome Elemental Jay home from Iraq. He is a Indiana cacher and friend and it was really freakin' good to see him get his butt home safe and in one piece. WE were also able to getting some gps fun in. We found beverly (GC28) which was really cool. It is the third oldest active cache in the world and the oldest cache east of the Mississppi. Really darn cool. It was an excellent cache to find and really cool to find one that old. It was hid in 2000 which is pretty impressive since we have only been caching since 2003 and the majority of our caches have been archived in that time. We also got to find our first benchmark in Illinois which had the added benefit of being the first rod benchmark we have found. I am rally enjoying seeing all the different kinds of benchmarks. We also got to do some waymarking since the place we went to gather was waymarked. It was a fun weekend but also very tiring from the travel and long late nights.
