2009 the international Year of Astronomy

This year is the international year of astoronomy. I guess I am really behind in reporting this but I guess in honour of this I am still going to do a link to the website telling more of this. The link is here.

Hydbrid Hunting

I have been a gps gamer both as Captian Spaulding and "Paws"itraction for a while now. I think the longer I do this, the more divers ways I will do this. It started out just geocaching then i folded benchmarks and waymarks also came in. I am also going GPSr-less with letterboxing. I am really amused with the morphing styles of play. It will be interesting to see how my play changes as new elements are picked up and let go.

Just as a side note, I am starting to get another irratation about micros. I have two travel bugs that I picked up and am having a problem placing because of the lack of bigger caches that can hold them. The one I got because it was in an unknowncache that was not listed and the other was given to me to get moving. I am getting plans to get them moving however. I just wish it was a bit more timely.

Earth Trek

There is a new project online called Earthtrek. (link) It is a proejct that needs everyday people to collect information for science. Two fo the projects start the first of July. check it out and see what there is there of interest.

Summer is here!

The summer equinox was a couple of days ago and the weather is definitely showing it is summer. It is hot. I also think it is silly that people think that summer starts at solstice. It has been summer weather around here since the beginning of May around here. At the same time, come this September, when the equinox comes, it will be cooling down for a while and heading for the cooler weather that I love so much about fall. Yes I was belly aching about the cold of winter but I also hate the heat of summer. Like the ever Mark twain said, everyone complains about the weather but no one ever does anything about it.

In the meanwhile,the statistical hottest weak of the year is still a month away. It is the third weak of July. Let us see how it goes.
