Lakeside Park

While in Kingsville, I noticed this sign for the first time. I do not think it was there the last time I came to the park. I am pretty sure but not absolutely sure I would have noticed it the last time I was in there. I did a couple of other waymarks really really close to there. The only trouble is that I can be Captain Oblivious sometimes. Other times, I have my spidey waymarker senses on and noticing everything. The waymark for this sign is HERE.

Chrysler Canada Greenway

One of the neat features in Essex County, Ontario is the Greenway. I have waymarked one of the access points of it HERE. I have walked some of this trail and wish i had more to time to do so on the last walk. It is long enough that I would really like to do a day or two bike tour of it. This particular access point is near the Pelee Island Winery which makes for a nice starting or ending point and there is a benchmark here from the time that this use to be a railroad.

If you want more information about this neat trail, check out the wkipedia article HERE.

Canadian Benchmarks

I went on another trip to Southern Ontario. True to my habits, I had my GPSr and digital camera in tow to do some waymarking. I found two more canadian benchmarks. I understand that benchmarks are not everyone's cup of tea but it always interests me on where they are placed and what is used for benchmarks. One of them was at the Kingsville harbor and the other was along was used to be the Pere Marquette railroad. that railroad has been converted into a trail. I will be talking more about that tomorrow.

The waymarks for these two benchmarks are here:

Pelee Island Winery

I Know I have done Pelee Island winery as a weekly webness but I was finally able to do it as a waymark. (HERE) the first time I tried it was raining and the pictures were less than stellar to put it mildly and totally unusable. Fortunately, that has been fixed. they have really yummy and great wines so if you get in the area and like wine, it is a place to stop in at.

Jack Miner Sanctuary

I am still mining my visit to Canada in January for Weekly Webnesses. This time it is for Jack Miner Sanctuary. (LINK) I grew up very close to here and this place has always had a soft spot in my heart. Like I am so prone to say, check out their website and check out the place.

Pelee Island Winery

One other place I went last month when I went to Canada was the Pelee Island Winery. (LINK) I am not a huge wine drinker and not at all a wine snob but I know what I like. Feel free to disagree with my recommendation of this winery but they make some really good stuff in my never to be humble opinion. So check out their website and better yet, check out their wine. It is worth a try.

Objiway Park Pictures

During our trip to Canada In January, we were able to do an earthcache at Objiway Park. The earthcache listing is in this LINK. The website for the park, I have highlighted in the weekly webness. I really enjoyed the park and the earthcache. Earthcaches tend to be in places that got me and kept me in caching in the first place- showing me neat places i would not have stopped and seen otherwise because I did not hear about them before. I have gotten pickier about the caches I am doing and I am greatly grateful for the good ones I find along the way.

Ojibway Park, Windsor Ontario

I went on a trip to Ontario in January. One of the side trips was to do an earthcache in Objiway Park in Windsor, Ontario. They have a website at this LINK. Like I have said about many other locations, I would have known it was ther if it was not for caching. So check out their website and better yet, check out their park.

Saint Paul's Lutheran in Leamington

I went over to Canada to visit my folks. Naturally, I was not going to pass up the chance to go gps gaming so I hunted down a Canadian benchmark. It was in the foundation of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. The nice thing is that this benchmark was right along the route I was going for the trip so that makes it really nice. It was a two for one spot since it was a Lutheran church with a benchmark on the property.

Benchmark waymark.
